Margaret Toohey has built
the Lewiston Insurance Agency into a leading provider of insurance
products to businesses, municipalities, and individuals in Niagara
and Erie Counties. Her business career spans over 31 years of
experience as a licensed broker and agent for property, casualty,
life, accident, and health insurance. Formerly an underwriter
and marketing executive for Aetna Life and Casualty, she formed
her own agency in 1987.
Margy is committed to helping create
a viable business climate and translates her commitment to service in
the local business community as a supporting member of the Niagara
USA Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Greater Lewiston
Business and Professional Association for four terms and as
a board member for an additional four years, and as a member
of the Professional Insurance Agents Association. Margy is also
a graduate of Leadership Niagara
In addition to her business endeavors,
Margy plays an active role in the community as a member of the
Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Board of Trustees and
as chairman of their community outreach group, the Medical Center
Alliance. She is also a member of the Niagara County Commission
on the Status of Women and of the Lewiston Jazz Festival Board
of Directors. Additionally, Margy is a sustaining member of
the Junior League of Buffalo and former treasurer of that organization
as well as a life member of the Friends of the Lewiston Library.
Margy has adopted management techniques
that allow her to efficiently run her agency, engage in many
professional and community activities, and still find some spare
time to enjoy golfing with her husband Tim, writing the popular
“Foodies” column in Buffalo
Spree magazine
as well as keeping in touch with her son in Manhattan, her daughter
and son-in-law in Buffalo and her youngest daughter, Keenan,
a junior at Buffalo State College. |
